Our third-floor bathroom has been crumbling and peeling since we bought the house four years ago. Our first couple of years we had a friend living with us on the third floor so we never got around to updating it, but that has officially changed! We decided to get back on “reno-track” with a smaller project.
The bathroom is a small space between two of the bedrooms. It features a clawfoot tub, vanity, and toilet. The walls have shifted so there were many cracks, peeling paint and loose plaster that needed to be addressed but that is no different than any other room in our house.
We decided to remove that shower surround and the plastic shower head wand since the space is so small. We also removed the vanity top to prep it for something a little more clean and modern. We decided to save the existing vanity and paint it since it already fit the space.
Now we have to replace the plumbing under the cabinet to accommodate the new faucet and sink. After all of the walls were patched (which took two days) and painted, we started putting the room back together. We purchased a new sink faucet and clawfoot tub faucet, mirror, sconces, and shelves. Since we rarely use this bathroom, we decided to give it a spa feeling in case someone wanted to take a bath (S is the bath junky, I can’t stand taking them).
Well, we are officially back on track with reno projects! We will be done in no time!
